Welcome to M.A.D. House

About M.a.d. house

M.A.D. Ministries, Inc. (M.A.D.House) For over 35 years, this 501C3

charity has been Making A Difference in the lives of hundreds of urban

teenagers in Phoenix through efforts of its volunteer leaders; coaching

basketball and teaching Truth, integrity and responsibility. All the

training is based on the Bible and is exemplified by the leaders.

M.A.D. House has been active since 1979. It was formally established in 1997 as a non profit organization. Over the years M.A.D. has touched hundreds of young people with the lure of sports, games and group activities. What starts out as a venue to play games, learn new skills, and compete soon becomes a time to hear God's word in a way that is understood and can be applied to everyday life. The trademark of M.A.D. Ministries work is to be consistent in a world where teenagers find very few things consistent in their lives. Every week, M.A.D. is there. Every week, the young people find they can count on M.A.D. House.

Current Activities

M.A.D. House is currently working hard in the Central Phoenix area. This area has been ministered to by M.A.D. House staff for over 40 years. M.A.D. meets three nights a week for the Central Phoenix location. M.A.D. has begun ministering to the Maryvale area. M.A.D. is currently meeting two nights a week in the Maryvale location.

M.A.D. Trips

Our annual trip to San Diego (May). Allows our students to compete in a variety of activities with other youth groups and experience a weekend of emphasis on a relationship with Christ. This trip is offered to our students free of cost, if they meet necessary requirements (i.e. specified number of M.A.D. House attendances before the trip.) and is made available through the generous giving from our many contributors.

Jerry and Cindi Steele

Since 1979, Jerry and Cindi Steele have been making friends through basketball (and now several other activities) and encouraging young people to "follow us as we follow Christ." Jerry learned to use basketball as a ministry tool while serving as a student missionary during college. He practices law, teaches, preaches and has coached at the high school, college levels and is currently coaching FIBA. Cindi is a great mom and homemaker and a gifted musician, a teacher and has traveled much of the world in mission and development work. Jerry and Cindi are the proud parents of four great kids, two exceptional son-in-laws, one fantastic daughter-in-law and grandparents to seven wonderful grandchildren. The whole family has worked together in the ministry of M.A.D. House.

Making A Difference has been a great way to spend a life.
